Patient Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Make patients feel welcomed, at-home and at-ease.
- Answer phone calls and schedule new and existing patient appointments.
- Greet and check-in patients.
- Process insurance claims and answer any billing/insurance questions.
- Monitor schedules to ensure appointments are confirmed and that patient documentation is up-to-date before patients arrive.
- As schedule changes happen, make phone calls to keep the schedules full.
- Manage the patient communication process that goes out to patients who are due for checkups and haven't scheduled (emails, texts, postcards and phone calls).
- Learn and be able to communicate the basics of dental treatment.
- Present necessary treatment and cost to patients.
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims - seeing if there are any issues with information on file or if supplemental information is needed to process claims in a timely manner.
- Navigate computer software.
