This position will facilitate patient care by triaging and scheduling dental appointments, assist with dental accounts and pre-authorizations for dental care, and make referral appointments for patients as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Triages and schedules patient dental appointments in person and by phone.
- Performs reception functions within the dental department.
- Maintains and reviews dental records.
- Assists with patient accounts functions.
- Ensures privacy and security of merchant card transactions and data.
- Verifies appointment is completed, such as radiographs, examination, treatment, and referral.
- Works to improve work processes and clinical outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.
- Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
- Follows policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains own competence.
- Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.
- Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.
- Protected Health Information Access (HIPAA)
Qualifications:
- High School diploma / GED required.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Products (ex. Excel, Word) and Windows Platform. Must be comfortable moving within Dental program software and/or an EMR computer system regularly.
- Dental office or dental assistant experience preferred. Ability to work with diverse groups of people and work with a large degree of independence.
