We are looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to join our Port Richey location! Our team is growing and we are looking for a friendly, reliable, hard-working and problem-solving individual. Our ideal candidate is a superstar Dental Assistant who is reliable and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
We are a non-corporate FFS and PPO private practice (no Medicaid or HMO's accepted).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers to the back of the dental office; make sure patients are comfortable before, during, and after treatment
- Brings any needed attention to the doctor
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures (radiographs, procedures, impressions, lab scripts etc.)
- Keeps detailed and accurate patient records.
- Presents accurate treatment plans
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Remains on schedule by being effective and efficient
- Help manage the supplies and inventory
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Well-organized and reliable
- Proven experience as Dental Assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of Dental Assisting program is advantageous
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, leaning and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
