Lab Assistant

Preferred Experience:

· A bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field, or, at least 60 semester hours with 24 hours of science courses that include:

6 hours of chemistry

6 hours of biology

12 hours of chemistry, biology, or other laboratory technology in any combination

· Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment, preferred

· Basic computer skills

Duties:

· Follow laboratory procedures and policies to ensure accurate and reliable results

· Follow laboratory procedures and policies to ensure safe practices

· Record and document necessary patient/specimen information into the laboratory’s information system

· Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies

· Perform responsibilities efficiently to avoid negatively impacting clients and patient care

· Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace

· Maintain a positive work environment

· Perform gross dissection techniques on specimens following guidelines and training

· Maintain open communication with all team members, pathologists, and administration

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
