Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and record patients' medical and dental histories
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and trimming plaster casts
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient records
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
Skills:
- Proficiency in using EagleSoft software for patient management and record keeping
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment in the dental office
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
- Experience using EagleSoft software for appointment scheduling and billing
- Competence in dental assisting techniques, including instrument passing, suctioning, and retraction
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases in the dental office
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience working with pediatric patients in a dental setting
- Proficiency in performing medical imaging procedures, such as intraoral and extraoral radiographs
