Candidate must be proficient in all dental terminology , coding and Softdent, be efficient, pleasant and compatible with other staff and patients. WORK SHIFT
- Full-time ( No evenings )
- Four (4)-day office schedule: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-4:00pm
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Seeking a compassionate, polished and organized Dental Receptionist to perform all administrative duties necessary to ensure that our practice functions smoothly and efficiently. You will be joining a team of two existing receptionists to manage the day-to-day operations of the bustling office.
As a Dental Receptionist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages and backgrounds. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health, safety and insurance rules and a good eye for administrative requirements and anomalies. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.
- Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed.
- Assisting patients to fill out information forms.
- Preparing patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff.
- Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.
- Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic/electronic reminders.
- Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.
- Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.
- Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing
- Ability to create and maintain an organized filing system
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree a must
- Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous.
- Proven experience working in a dental office or similar environment.
- Sound knowledge of dental terminology.
- Proficient in dental practice management software (Softdent).
- Working knowledge of general administrative practices.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance benefits.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing documents.
- Good telephone etiquette.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
