Simon & Schuster is seeking a Demand Planning Manager. In this role you will be responsible for managing the frontlist Demand Planning responsibilities for Simon Element and Avid Reader Press. In addition you will:
- Review and analyze sales estimates to set first print quantities and build quantities for prepacks
- Follow up with Sales on missing orders prior to release
- Monitor presales and orders to make adjustments to printings and allocations throughout the release process
- Coordinate the release with Production and Transportation
- Daily review of incoming order for key accounts
- Manage key titles post-release
- Review and analyze sales data post release to make reprint decisions and allocation decisions
- Create point of sale projections for key accounts
- Make allocation recommendations
- Inventory reviews
- Weekly OSI title review
- Monthly returns disposition reviews with Publisher
- Maintain close relationship and communication flow with the Publishers
- Manage inventory levels of backlist for Simon Element, Avid Reader, and Atria
- Review monthly sales title by title, make printing/pricing recommendations, prepare agenda, and hold weekly reprint meetings with Associate Publishers
- Review and update the inventory system used to track backlist inventory and sales
- Review daily large orders and make allocation and reprint recommendations
- Review active reprints to ensure timely delivery and prioritization
- Order priority reprints as needed
- Send warehouse requests for inventory moves and dispositions
- Create, update, review and send out daily and weekly inventory reports
- Request updates and changes to title data with the Title Maintenance group
A College degree is highly preferred
Strong computer and analytical skills are a must
