Overview
Salary Range: $80K - $85K / Annual
This position will manage all Dealer Development functions and various Retail Network improvement initiatives within the assigned Kawasaki region. Dealer Development functions include managing all dealer packages within KDPS (Kawasaki Dealer Package System). Specific responsibilities include package initiation, gathering the required documents from dealers, reviewing all submitted documents for accuracy and completion, completing an overall evaluation of the proposed action, and making recommendations to the DDM & RSD. Retail Improvement initiatives include monitoring dealer compliance against various programs and initiatives. Responsible for finding qualified candidates to fill viable Open Points. Will interview potential candidates, collect and review performance data including financial statements, and complete a thorough review and evaluation before making a recommendation to proceed. Prospecting responsibilities include attendance at assigned trade shows, as well as through direct visits to competitive dealerships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all Dealer Development functions in KDPS; Add Points, Buyouts, Relocations, Add Lines, Drop Lines, Ownership Changes and Terminations.
- Work closely with District Managers to ensure alignment on proposed network actions. Establish, maintain and close Open Points as needed.
- Ensure all KDPS packages are completed in a timely manner by working closely with DMs & Dealers to gather the required documents and confirm completion and accuracy.
- Fill Open Points with qualified candidates. Includes candidate prospecting, evaluating Business Plans, reviewing and evaluating financial performance and capital conditions, forecasting potential performance and making qualified recommendations to Sr. management by completing the Pre-
- Qualification package in KDPS.
- Coordinate with KMC Legal to ensure that all proposed actions comply with current state franchise laws.
- Establish priority markets utilizing Urban Science data to determine highest unit recovery opportunities.
- Utilize mapping software (MapPoint & Google Earth) to develop action plans in specific markets and plan travel within these markets to identify and meet with qualified candidates.
- Monitor dealer compliance with Retail Improvement initiatives, including facility guidelines, exterior sign compliance and participation in interior showroom elements and displays.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation to support decision-making process related to the dealer selection process.
- Provide quarterly network action updates to Sr. Management
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college is preferred; and minimum 5 years related experience and/or training in the Power Sports or related industry environment.
To perform this job successfully, one must have a working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software, and must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. It is also required that this person have a good understanding of Industry Market Share calculations and is familiar with Urban Science data collection and Expected Sales within a specific market.
