- This position's primary responsibility will be as a DB2 LUW DBA which includes support of the DBMS Software, the hardware associated with the Database environments, Backup and Recovery as well as Disaster Recovery associated with Database.
- In addition, this position's responsibility will include Database Design Activities including Database Modeling.
- The successful candidate will administer and maintain our corporate DB2 data warehouse along with several operational databases. Specific responsibilities include: Operational support of our databases, the associated infra-structure, resolving database performance issues which may include working with developers, technical SMEs and business users to name a few. Solid skills in AIX and Linux Operating Systems are required.
- BB2 LUW DBA having 3-5 years' experience who will be responsible for logical database administration which shall include: - Assist in application support for Db2 by reviewing stored procedures. - Assist in application support for Db2 through code implementation support. - Assist in debugging of application.
- Support and enforce DI Change Management process and procedures.
- Support and follow the DI P0 and P1 escalation process.
- Support and follow the DI security management program and policy.
- Advanced performance-tuning skills to review performance data and prepare reports
- This role requires expertise with DB2 specific concepts, best practices and procedures. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks; be an advisor on technical issues; proactively make recommendations for improved performance and efficiencies.
- Primary Responsibilities: Support multiple DB2 systems including the enterprise data warehouse, operational databases in development, test, and production Manage/monitor system performance Consult on physical database implementations Implement and administer access policies in conjunction with corporate standards.
- Hands-on experience in Database Administration (Development and Operational) using DB2 with DPF in a Distributed environment using AIX as the Operating System Hands-on experience in Data Modeling (Physical)Hands-on experience in working with Database Administrators
- Experience with Q-Replication and HADR setup and Administration of HADR in conjunction with DB2Experience with Tivoli System Automation within a HADR configuration is must.
