Excel Academic Center is located in Stroudsburg, PA. Our goal is to Provide quality childcare.

A newly opening daycare is looking for a Daycare Director.

Pay is based on experience.

Work hours: minimum 30, preferable 40

Responsibilities

· Administering finances, personnel, maintenance, meal planning and preparation and transportation.

· Administering the facility’s program objectives and activities.

· Designating a staff person who is responsible for compliance with this chapter in the Director’s absence.

· Coordinating planning daily activities with the group supervisors or with the assistant group supervisors in school-age program.

· Overall program planning.

· Written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis.

· Supervises the development and coordination of curriculum, activities, and special programs for children.

Qualifications

· Candidates must pass required state and company background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements;

· Experience working with children in a child care setting;

· Ability to create and implement educational programs that meet the needs of diverse learners;

· Strong leadership and organizational skills;

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of child development principles and best practices

· Familiarity with licensing regulations and safety standards for child care centers

· Preferred Childcare Director with experience

· A director shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:

- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.

- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.

- An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.

- An associate's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 4 years of experience with children.
