Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Assistant to join our team. As a Daycare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. Your primary responsibility will be to support the lead teacher in implementing educational and developmental activities for the children in our care.
Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and lesson plans
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and outdoor activities
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Assist with diaper changes, potty training, and basic personal care tasks
- Monitor children's behavior and provide guidance in accordance with behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess children's progress and communicate with parents/guardians
- Support children with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the lead teacher
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
Skills:
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or classroom setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate educational activities
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom environment and maintain discipline
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents/guardians, and other staff members
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Ability to follow instructions from the lead teacher and work collaboratively as part of a team
