Job Description
Centerbase is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Engineer who will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's database systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL databases. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL, database management, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Database Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain efficient and secure SQL database systems.
- Collaborate with application developers to define database structures that meet application requirements.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries for maximum efficiency.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and other database-related issues.
- Data Security and Integrity: Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the company's sensitive data.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency through regular audits and validation processes.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
- Perform regular database backups and test recovery procedures to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and system administrators, to address database-related issues.
- Provide support and guidance to team members on database-related matters.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure that database-related documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role with a focus on SQL.
- In-depth knowledge of database design, implementation, and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with database security measures and best practices.
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
