- Make an Impact! Under the direction of the IT Technology Operations Manager, the Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing our company’s databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database management systems, data backup and recovery, and SQL. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring that all databases are up to date with policies and procedures in place to protect against data loss. The DBA will also be responsible for resolving any problems that may arise and work with other IT professionals to ensure that all databases are functioning efficiently and effectively.

Position: Database Administrator
Essential Accountabilities:
- Building database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role
- Designing and implementing databases in accordance to end users’ information needs and views.
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
- Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in database administration.
- Strong understanding and awareness of ITIL processes and tools (ServiceNow).
- Experience working with external software vendors, resource management and balancing of workloads.
- Excellent relationship, interpersonal, influencing, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, project management, problem solving skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Highly professional individual and acts as positive role model demonstrating professional attitude and appearance consistent with position's responsibilities.
- Self-motivated possessing a sense of urgency and a bias to action.
- Is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and possesses high tolerance for risk.
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Enterprise Project Management Software.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, technology, clinical or related discipline desired, but not required.
