Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and motivated intermediate level professional SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, designing, implementing and maintaining of SQL Server databases in order to ensure the highest level of performance, security, scalability and availability. As the DBA Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security and performance of all databases within the specialty pharmacy environment.
This candidate will also be responsible for hiring and developing a team of qualified database professionals.
Responsibilities
- Leads maintenance of all database systems, including software, security, capacity and performance.
- Troubleshoots and resolves database performance and/or data integrity issues.
- Develops and implements database backup/recovery plans and procedures.
- Maintains database security including user access, privileges, and roles.
- Monitors database performance and optimize query performance.
- Performs database design, development, and maintenance.
- Performs database upgrades and patching.
- Develops and maintains database documentation.
- Designs and implements data warehouse solutions.
- Develops, implements and monitors database replication solutions.
- Mentors and supports database developers and Database Administrators.
- Hires and develops a team of qualified database professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SQL Server database administration.
- 2+ years of experience negotiating contracts for software, tools and professional services.
- Proficiency in T-SQL and stored procedures.
- Expert knowledge of database optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing team members
- 2+ years of experience in the Specialty Pharmacy Industry
- Experience with managing database teams
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell
