High school graduate or equivalent with business courses. Experience with Data Tracking collection/tracking; Demonstrates ability to maintain a database and consolidate data into statistical reports; At least two years' secretarial experience and office management skills; Ability to communicate effectively and to relate well to participants; Proficient with Microsoft Windows software, including both Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Freedom from racial/ethnic/sexual orientation biases required. 
Preferred
Postsecondary education degree. Experience working with first-generation, low income, and minority students; Background similar to that of participants. Previous experience administering standardized tests (ACT, SAT, TSIA2, etc.) in a higher education setting, administrative experience. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Primary Responsibilities
Full-time position to support daily administrative and Testing demands of Student Support Services and Testing. The assistant will aid the department with administrative duties and facilitate standardized and individual testing, including career servicesrelated tasks. Oversee the spending of budget finances, maintain student files and records, recruit, coordinate data collection to meet grant objectives, and develop reports for college personnel.  The assistant will also use the online database to compile annual performance reports for federal compliance and departmental data reporting. Assist directors with coordinating and managing travel arrangements for professional development programs. Perform any other duties as assigned by the SSS and Testing Center Directors.
Scope: 
Performs varied tasks relating to data collection, reporting, testing, and relieves administrator of units of work; and provides skilled secretarial assistance.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for students' data entry system; ; maintain accurate, up-to-date student records, databases, student academic records, and Testing and academic materials; maintain accurate office records, including budget records, purchase orders, statistical info, etc. keep monthly electronic and paper copies of information; process correspondence, reports, proposals, and other project documents as needed; compile data for reports and evaluation; assist in preparing reports for the institution, target schools, communities, and U.S. Department of Education to inform them about the progress of projects; maintain department website and online calendar; maintain a pleasant, professional, and welcoming demeanor and an office atmosphere conducive to meeting the needs of underrepresented students and examinees; assists with the enforcement of test security and policies and procedures; assists with the maintenance of the Testing Center and ensures all computers are in good working condition; administers and supervises test takers according to strict guidelines and standards ;front line personnel for public; will collect and manage student data for specific student populations such as first-generation, under-prepared, minority, and low-income; performs tasks using database computer skills, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; keeps various administrative, testing, fiscal, and/or academic records; handles and maintains confidential information; verifies documents for completeness and accuracy; responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
 
Non-Essential: Duties unique to the particular department and other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:

Other Information
Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
