Job Summary:
The Data Specialist is an information technology expert who will analyze, collect, sort, and create testable electronic data and information. This position will compile data regularly to create reports they provide to upper management or present at board meetings to aid in decision-making. They will consult with others who utilize this data in other projects. The Data specialist will oversee the entire conversion process of information transfers from any source to our data system. They research data sources to verify the validity of the information and might be responsible for assisting in designing a database for a specific client to use.
The Data specialist will train users in using new data storage and retrieval systems, databases, and software. They will design the database or software program needed to convert the users data. They must consistently report a conversion program's progress to their clients and cover workflow and workflow disruption, exceptions, costs, and analysis results. The Data specialist will also maintain a database and answer questions users might have regarding the system.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create edit checks for all external data types and perform validation.
- Perform any and all tasks and activities as requested.
- Handle complex data requests, reports, and predictive data modeling.
- Serve as a lead regarding complex data issues and database projects.
- Assist the IS manager with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting as needed.
- Generate, resolve and track queries to address problematic data identified during data review activities and apply proper modification / correction to the database.
- Troubleshoot and offer solutions based on the project's needs.
- Draft specifications for medium to high-complexity listings and reports.
- Increase the breadth and quality of data that is tracked, monitored and analyzed for both internal use and client reporting.
- Lead and manage data integration and conversion areas of planning, coordination, and meeting customer expectations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be 21 or older
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to thrive, multi-task, prioritize, and follow-up and issue resolution with internal teams
- Ability to problem solve and work in a fast environment without a lot of structure and/or supervision
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks/priorities
Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central 365 or similar ERP system
- 3+ years of experience working with relational databases
- Associate degree in a related Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics or computer science or equivalent work experience
- Accounting experience a plus
