Dynamis is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Counterproliferation Mission Center (CMPC) in Huntsville, AL by utilizing predictive analytics and innovative machine learning models to create value from data and will be responsible for developing and driving strategic modeling initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • The Data Scientist will sift through HSI and other relevant law enforcement data to identity weaknesses, trends, or opportunities for CPIU.
  • Analyze processes conducted by HSI CPI personnel at their field offices and identify opportunities for process automation and/or data science tool development.
  • Provide Government with new capabilities related to data analytics, ingest, extraction collating, normalizing, and processing.
  • Develop and Implement sound data governance policy within CPI to ensure and enforce information integrity.
  • Identify trends, detect high-risk areas for weapons proliferation and prioritize enforcement approaches by applying research and advanced analytics.
  • Deliver accurate, complete, and timely data to users across the organization.
  • Assist the Government in performing evaluations of in-house designed and developed, COTS/GOTS and open-source analytic tools and technologies that will further enhance HSI's advanced analytic capabilities.
  • Work with Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES) information within the guidelines of statute, regulations, and policy governing HSI.
  • This position reports in-person, onsite 4 days a week.
Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain ICE suitability (current ICE or DHS suitability is preferred)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited University in quantitative discipline such as computer science, data science, statistics, or mathematics.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in extract, transform and load (ETL) processes.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in designing, developing, evaluating and deploying predictive modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in support for data ingestion, data sciences, integration, and fusion in response to new and expanding requirements.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the different types of US Government information and intelligence collection (HUMINT, SIGINT, GEOINT, etc).
  • Experience using statistical programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Understanding of risk management and risk management tools.
  • Ability to develop point papers, briefing materials, and to make oral presentation of these materials to all levels of management.
  • Capability to clearly explain complex problem-solving techniques and solutions to non-technical audiences, both orally and in writing.
  • Capability to come up with outside the box ideas to effectively guide the customer towards data driven solutions to relevant requirements and problems.
  • Experience using Law Enforcement information, is a plus.
  • Defense or Intelligence community experience, especially OSINT, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in established defense and intelligence analytics software, including Palantir, SemanticAI, IBM i2 Analyst Notebook, etc is a plus.
  • Proficiency or experience with information dashboard software (Tableau, Power BI, Kibana), is a plus.
  • Ability to review, synthesize and prepare highly technical, sensitive, and complex documents, briefing materials, management directives and correspondence.
