  • Complimentary Peacock subscription during your internship.

  • Free admission to Universal Parks to use during your internship.

  • Access to mental health resources including counseling sessions.

  • Late June – Early July: Selected candidates receive offers

Academic Year Internship Program:

  • Applications Close: April 26th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!

  • Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025

  • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

  • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

To Apply:

  • Submit a one-page resume that outlines your work experience, accomplishments, and your graduation month and year.

  • Submit a cover letter that highlights your passion for NBCUniversal, the locations (listed below) you are open to for internships, and your top areas of interest (opportunities listed below).

  • Upload a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

  • Peacock, Consumer Insights: The Peacock Consumer Insights Team supplies insights in support of strategic objectives to stakeholders across the organization, including the Content Strategy, Content Development & Marketing teams. As an intern on our team, you will be exposed to a variety of quantitative and qualitative primary research methodologies and gain experience in analyzing the output to provide actionable insights for the business.

  • Peacock Product Analytics & Experimentation: We are seeking an Intern for our Product Analytics & Experimentation team to help support our A/B/N testing efforts across multiple Product teams (Viewing, Commerce, Personalization, and Editorial). This role will sit within the larger Decision Sciences team. The goal of the Decision Sciences team is to deliver and champion intelligent use of data that drives a best-in-class customer experience and fuels product growth. The Intern, Product Analytics & Experimentation, therefore, should be able to thrive in a collaborative working environment by partnering with other Decision Sciences teams, including Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Measurement, and other Peacock business units across products, content and marketing.

  • TV & Streaming, Data Science: Our Data Science program is designed to provide interns with real-world experience working on projects on a typical Data Science environment, using state of the art tools and technologies, while gaining broad exposure to the media industry. Interns will acquire specific responsibilities, goals, and timelines aligned with the teams they are embedded in. Join us as we collaborate across our business to support and inform data-enhanced strategic decisions.

  • Media Group, Data Science Research (AI & MI): We are seeking a passionate candidate to work in the Media Group Data Science Research team on finding innovative approaches of applying Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Media Science to NBCU business. If you are enthusiastic about learning new technologies and finding ways to quickly apply them to critical company objectives through rapid prototyping and cross-functional team collaboration, this internship is ideal for you.

  • Data Products: Embark on an enriching journey in the realm of data products as an intern with our innovative team. As a Data Products Intern, you will delve into the fascinating world of data-driven solutions, working alongside experienced professionals to develop, enhance, and deploy data products that drive actionable insights and value for our organization and clients.

  • Data & Legal Solutions, Tech Strategy: Our group is Data & Legal Solutions, which sits within TechOps. We have 5 very inter-collaborative teams: Legal Tech Operations, Product Management, Data Governance, Accessibility Operations, and Tech Strategy. While we sit within O&T, we are responsible for enterprise data compliance across NBCU, meaning the intern is exposed to all facets of our business as well as our Sky & Comcast partner teams. The intern will support project tooling audition & upkeep, weekly exec status report tracking, and Risk Committee admin support.

  • Peacock, Media Analytics: Unlike a traditional internship, the Media Analytics Internship in Peacock embeds future data experts in ongoing projects within the organization and gives the ability to learn a variety of analytic techniques that are used heavily by the business. They become active members of existing teams working on high-impact analytics, owning specific responsibilities, goals and timelines which directly support the broader goals of Peacock Decision Sciences and Performance and Brand Marketing. Upon completion, Interns will have gained real-world problem-solving experience in a high-visibility and fast-paced media environment. They will have learned the fundamentals of marketing a product in its infancy, from KPI measurement to broad strategic initiatives throughout the marketing funnel. Finally, they will have tangible impact on Peacock’s growth and success in the streaming landscape.

  • Data & Measurement Strategy: NBCU is looking for an intern to join the Data Transformation & Measurement team. This person will be responsible for analyzing viewership of NBCU and competitive networks and platforms across all screens and will support internal digital and cross platform reporting tools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data, exposure to working with audience measurement tools and large data sets, Tableau/SQL proficiency, and the curiosity to explore and evaluate new measurement tools across linear and digital.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.

  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity or experience setting up tests with A/B/N testing tools (e.g., Optimizely, Apptimize, Adobe Target, Split), experimental design and practical application of same techniques.

To participate in NBCUniversal’s 2024-2025 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship.
