Job Description
The person in the Data Platform Engineer role will play a pivotal part in enhancing and refining our data infrastructure, focusing on the Unified Data Platform. This involves collaborating on the development and fine-tuning of our data systems to boost data quality, accessibility, and reliability. More specifically, this person will be responsible for:
- Working closely with DSP (Demand-Side Platform), ML, and DMP (Data Management Platform) teams to integrate and curate data effectively into our Data Lake.
- Collaborating across teams to build and improve data tools, ensuring our data architecture supports real-time insights and analytics.
- Owning data quality and reliability, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Contributing to code reviews, architectural discussions, and the continuous improvement of our Data Platform.
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to best engineering practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data quality and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in a range of data engineering technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Data Lake, Warehouse, Kafka, AWS, Airflow).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in developing and optimizing data pipelines, with a strong understanding of both batch processing and real-time streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with AWS services and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automation.
- Knowledge of data ingestion, software engineering, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Apache Iceberg or similar table formats and data management technologies is a plus.
- Exposure to data analytics or machine learning projects.
