The Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1968 to enrich the lives of youth, seniors, homeless populations, economically disadvantaged families, and under-served individuals in South Los Angeles by providing and facilitating a variety of essential educational services, social services, cultural activities, vocational opportunities and economic empowerment opportunities.

Job Summary:
The Data Input worker reports directly to the Program Director and facilitates execution of the Director's instructions with respect to entering data into the organizations system or funders required system. This requires knowledge of the gang prevention program and the required reporting characteristics. You will assist collecting pertinent data and working with the GRYD staff monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual audits. The Data Entry position will be responsible for transferring data from one source to another through Data Entry equipment, word processing, or verbal recordings. The ability to accurately type and at a fast speed is highly desired.

Data Entry Duties and Responsibilities
Entering data into appropriate fields; databases, records, and files
Transferring data from paper formats via computer, recorders, or scanners
Handling numerical data accurately; creating spreadsheets
Organizing spreadsheets with large numbers
Curating data directly from speech or interviews with youth families or staff
Updating databases or records with new information as it becomes available
Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records
Typing data directly and accurately
Complying with security backups and regular checks to ensure data is saved and stored properly
Summarizing data for standardized reports
Viewing and verifying confidential or private customer/client information; protecting the information and identities of customers/client
Verifying data by correctly checking and comparing source documentation
Organizing paper formats, paper backups, and material source files as needed
Data Entry Requirements and Qualifications
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
Skilled knowledge in generating process documentation
Assists GRYD team members when needed to accomplish team goals
Fast and accurate typist
Understands data confidentiality principles and follows them to the letter
High school diploma; associate's degree, or bachelor degree in business, administration or related field not required but preferred
Prior experience handling Data Entry responsibilities or equivalent experience in a related field
Highly organized multitasker who works well in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and to grow with the organization
Self-directed and able to work without supervision
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly of Excel spreadsheets
Pays strong attention to detail
Knowledge of touch-typing system preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, projectors, scanners, copiers, facsimile machines, calculators, etc.
Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
Due to our in-person and in office work with LAUSD, City of LA, County of LA and other work partners that require our team to be vaccinated we require that all potential candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated with either, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED
The successful candidate will be required to report to and work from the office complex at least five days a week. Offices are traditionally equipped with computers, telephones, desks, chairs, and office machines. Additionally, each office offers an instructional classroom from which orientations and trainings are conducted.
SALARY RANGE:
Benefits and salary will be negotiated based on experience, education, and the needs of the program.
