Position Details
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, operates computer and peripheral equipment, coding, and entering data into computer. Creates files and maintains records and reports in support of a district function.
Job Relationship:
Clerk Typist II provides clerical support to other clerical or secretarial staff and perform some assignments independently.
Clerk Typist III performs specialized clerical duties and provides sole clerical support for an assigned function.
Data Entry Operator operates an office computer and peripheral equipment at least 75 percent of the assigned time and employes the full scope of the equipment capabilities to input and extract a variety of data and to maintain a file data base.
Secretary provides secretarial services for one or more supervisors, usually is responsible for the clerical work of an office, and may exercise supervision over a small clerical staff.
Essential Functions - Typical Duties
Designs forms for data collections; compiles data for district, state and federal reports; checks and verifies data, compares data to standard, reports deviations; sorts, collates; assembles, distributes documents; files and retrieves documents in established/prescribed system.
Operates one or more computers and associated peripheral equipment to store data and generates reports, such as those relating to student identification, enrollment, class registration, credits, grades and student attendance.
Collects new data on studens K-12 from source documents, such as permits to re-enter class and registration cards; verifies attendance, immunization, and grades, classifies and arranges data in priority order, and enters data into the computer.
Bursts, sorts and distributes a variety of rosters, forms and reports generated from the computer.
Codes information and inputs data by keyboard or scanner.
May train, assign, and check work of other personnel assigned to operate the computer for limited periods of time.
May put together cum folders, make photocopies, file and provide clerical assistance to Senior Secretary.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
Equivalaent to graduation from high school and two years of data input and clerical experience with one year experience in use of Excel and Word at intermediate level. Some experience in use of SASI and Eagle software required.
