Description

The Clinical Document Specialist is a clinical support position responsible to enter essential healthcare documents/information into the electronic medical record from paper or other electronic medical record systems into Providence Electronic Medical Record. In addition, ensures the medical documents/information is entered accurately into the EMR.

This is 90% remote virtual work. Trainings should be done in office (100%) for the first 3 weeks then it will be followed with one (1) day per week in-person/office work and team members will take their turns. This position also includes some in-person team meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Course work in medical terminology/spelling, medical documentation or equivalent educ/experience
  • 2 years of work experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting with one year being in medical records management, paper or electronic.
  • 1 year of work experience with advanced computer applications (i.e. multiple electronic medical record programs, electronic appointment scheduling, scanning/indexing programs, Word and Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
  • 6 months of xperience with EPIC and OnBase.

About the Team

Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care. Collectively, our medical groups and affiliate practices are the third largest group in the country with over 11,000 providers, 900 clinics and 30,000 caregivers.
