SQL Knowledge Base is seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong foundation in SQL and experience in Data Engineering and business intelligence (BI) development. This role involves a mix of data ingestion and processing, along with the development of reporting queries and data solutions. The ideal candidate will be proficient and have the ability to handle both engineering and BI-related tasks.

What you’ll do
- Help develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Design and implement robust database schemas and structures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Create and manage data workflows, ensuring efficient and reliable data flow between systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts, stored procedures, and functions for data processing and aggregation.
- Conduct data analysis and generate insightful reports for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality checks and validation processes.
- Optimize database and query performance through indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate in the development and maintenance of data security, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Stay abreast of general industry trends and advancements in Data Engineering and BI technologies.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any related field.
- 2-3 years minimum of “real-world” experience on a data team (this cannot be your very first data position).
- Strong expertise in SQL with demonstrated experience in a data-heavy environment.
- Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Proven ability in data analysis and report generation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
