Our Vision for Data Engineer
We’re looking for a self-starter who can work as a cross-functional team player across all aspects of the Dev, QA, and Data teams. As the sole Data Engineer, you will create, manage, and execute projects that drive our product’s success.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data integration and processing pipelines to support business intelligence reporting and analytics.
- Design, build, test, maintain, and optimize data warehouse architectures in the AWS Cloud.
- Design and implement our data warehouse to collect, coordinate, and distribute data from and to different sources in an accurate and efficient way.
- Develop and maintain ETL and data processing.
- Develop and maintain database schemas, procedures, functions, and views in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Document and maintain technical specifications and data dictionaries.
- Monitor data and pipeline health.
- Perform testing and debugging activities to ensure the accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and to rapidly iterate and improve data & analytics solutions.
- Implement our data architecture across data warehouse, ETL, APIs, and BI software for near-term and long-term business goals.
- Recommend the right technology to build or buy to support our data needs.
- Define near-term and long-term technical direction for the data architecture, tools, and systems across the organization.
- Experience with development lifecycle methodologies such as Agile DevSecOps
- Demonstrated experience working with, and designing, data pipelines / ETL, data mining, APIs, and data warehousing.
- Experience working on cloud platforms - e.g. Amazon, Snowflake, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
- Experience working with different programming languages – e.g. Python, Java, SQL/SQL-based (emphasis in Python and Java)
- Strong understanding and familiarity with data management principles: Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Catalog, etc.
- Experience working with and implementing data architectures, data models, and data warehousing.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills.
