Emerald is seeking a Data Architectto lead our team of Developers and Data Analysts/Engineers in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
The individual should be inquisitive, with the ability to learn and understand Emerald’s holistic business needs and data across multiple transactional systems. The Data Architectcollaborates across data stewards, with brand leaders, centralized service groups (Finance, Marketing Operations and Commercial Operations) and IT leaders to develop information sourcing roadmaps, in alignment with the broader Emerald’s vision and goals. In addition, the Data Architectshould be capable of working in and mentoring developers and analysts in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This position reports directly to our offices in San Juan Capistrano, CA in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities
- Leads the development and implementing the Customer Data Infrastructure, Business Intelligence and Analytics strategy, organizational structure, and technical architecture.
- Working with data scientist, senior Sales, and Marketing leaders to refine the problem statement into requirements and prioritize them.
- Owning the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards.
- Manage onshore and offshore resources to ensure the technical and architectural goals of projects are met and in line with standards.
- Ensure all project and development efforts properly align to Master Data Management Strategy, Architecture Vision, and Security and Documentation Requirements.
- Recognize and adopt best practices and new tools and methodologies in reporting and analysis: data integrity, design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- Assists and guides the team through tasks to analyze, improve, and tune existing scripts, ETL, dashboards, and reports.
- Coach team members, and assist with direction setting for tasks, including working with the project manager to keep work on track across the team.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technology with progressive responsibilities and influence.
- Experience leading large size projects and team management responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience in developing reporting & analytical solutions is a must.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics (predictive and prescriptive) tools & technologies such as SAS, R, Python is preferred.
- Experience in application/Data Architecture, design principles, practices, and systems development life cycle.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies such as RUP and Agile is a plus.
- Up to date with data trends and opportunities that align with data objectives (e.g., Cloud, Big Data, Tools, Databricks, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud architecture such as Amazon S3 is a must.
- Hands-on experience with Relational Databases is required.
- Skilled at logical and physical data modeling, architecture, warehousing, strategy, and query languages.
- A team player with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team.
- Advanced project management and organizational skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Target Compensation: $100,000-$165,000 (Bonus Eligible)
Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
