Job Summary:
The Academic Operations Manager position is a full-time position within our Academic Leadership Team (AcLT). All Brooklyn RISE staff are responsible for adhering to our staff tenets of Heart, Hustle, and Humility in service of building a positive and committed professional community.
Job Description:
The Academic Operations Manager (AOC) at Brooklyn RISE will be essential to ensuring our school is data-driven, high-performing, and living out the overall mission and vision of our school. This role will be expected to lead the work of academic Data and Assessment management within the AcLT and manage the critical workflows that are essential to the academic operations and success of our school. The AOC will embody our commitment to data accuracy and integrity and will be responsible for ensuring our entire school community operates with fidelity to those commitments. Through excellent management of people, processes, and projects the AOC will position instructional teams to diagnose strengths and gaps in student achievement, create strong educational plans, and ensure every student at Brooklyn RISE is on track for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Owning, end-to-end, the academic assessment programs
- Ensuring school leadership and staff have real-time access to 100% accurate academic records and data reports
- Making data-driven recommendations around key decisions related to assessment, curriculum, and instruction
- Developing the scope and sequence for and leading weekly Data Team Meetings
- Occasionally presenting to the Brooklyn RISE Board of Trustees on academic data
- Helping to plan for and lead Data Days at Brooklyn RISE
Academic Operations
- Ensuring smooth assessment administration, conducted with adherence to protocols for academic integrity
- Overseeing the report card process for each trimester
- Providing disaggregated data based on students with diverse learning needs to ensure the Inclusive Learning Department is providing interventions and supports that are based in data
Data Accuracy and Integrity
- Serving as a super user for all of our student information systems and holds school staff accountable for the use and implementation of data tools and resources
- Cultivating a culture of transparency and clear communication around student performance and progress within our school community
Required Traits and Competencies:
- Is a leader who knows how to operate with conviction, and how to build relationships across Teams (i.e. Inclusive Learning Department, AcLT, Operations)
- Is a leader who can inspire a school community to constantly seek to improve and become more effective at our practices
- Strong strategic thinking, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Effectively collaborates with a broad base of constituents (school staff, Board, families, external stakeholders, etc.)
- Expertise working with data management systems and skills to perform complex, action driven data analysis
- Fluency in Excel and Google Workspace
- Independently and successfully manages people and projects
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and grit, self-starter, and eager to learn and grow
Salary & Benefits:
The salary range for this role is: $70,000-90,000 depending on experience.
