What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this dynamic Global Engineering role you will undertake varied projects assigned to develop, implement, manage, and monitor aspects of Amgen’s Sustainability program. Responsibilities include:

• Act as the in-house product owner for Amgen’s Sustainability database and reporting tools.
• Analyze structured and unstructured datasets, and develop appropriate data gap fill when information is not available.
• Improve the methods and ways in which Amgen’s Sustainability program obtains and analyzes data including collecting and interpreting data, analyzing and reporting results, identifying patterns and trends in data, and defining new data collection and analysis processes.
• Collaborate with Amgen business units, site, and functional partners to deliver results; influence and communicate effectively with clients.
• Evaluate proposed and completed conservation projects to validate environmental benefit/impact.
• Develop and manage key projects as well as applicable departmental programs.
• Partner with functional and site management to develop and implement Sustainability plans.
• Maintain appropriate records and documentation to satisfy audit requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering and 3 years of years relevant Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering and 5 years of years relevant Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering experience

Or

Associate’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering and 10 years of years relevant Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of years relevant Data Science, Computer Science, Science, or Engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Data analysis skills and proficiency in Excel, R, SAP, Enablon, Tableau, and/or Python.
• Experience with carbon accounting and sustainability data curation.
• Certification as a Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).
• Proficiency in data management and analysis tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Program development and project management skills.
• Experience with data system development and management.
