Salary***MUST ALREADY RESIDE IN HOUSTON, TX OR MIDLAND, TX*** The Data Analyst will help lead the data analytics team and BI (Business Intelligence) initiatives in our Midland, TX office, and beyond. This candidate will have a deep understanding of Power BI, SQL, and some experience within the Oil and Gas Industry. You will be responsible for providing insights and recommendations to help drive business decisions. As a key member of our team, you will use your strong analytical skills to gather and analyze complex data sets, find trends and patterns, and present findings to senior management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute SQL queries with precision, extracting data from various sources.
- Be familiar with visual platforms, designing interactive dashboards, and reports using Power BI.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns.
- Build tools and models to automate data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and measure KPIs.
- Develop and maintain data quality controls to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support to other members of the team as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to interact with customers and Account Managers daily.
- Occasional travel to our Corporate office in Houston but this position will be based in Midland, TX.
- Familiar with the Oil and Gas industry.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment as well as be an effective team player; must be able to work with strict deadlines and have the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Intermediate experience with Power BI, SQL and ETL. Spotfire experience is a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1 to 2 years of Data Analyst or relevant experience within the industry. 5+ years preferred.
TRAVEL
Less than 25% of travel to our Houston Office as needed.
