Purpose of the Role
This position is contingent on contract award.
BAO Systems is looking for experienced Data Analysts to join our Federal Services Team in Washington, D.C. The Data Analyst works closely with customers and development teams tailoring solutions for a high-profile $5 billion per year, multi-agency, multi-team program supporting large US Government international Public Health projects.
The Data Analyst will support either the Data Use for Impact Team or the Program Efficiency Team depending on data-related background. Both require strong abilities in the areas of analytics, requirements discovery, and experience in Public Health. You will be responsible for multiple country portfolios, provide data analytics support to respective Country Chair and Program Managers, and interpret results and recommendations on implementing program changes to improve performance. International travel is required and estimated to be four times per year for 2 weeks' duration per trip. Candidate must be based in commutable distance to Washington DC.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
- Translates complex data analysis concepts and requirements into clear, digestible, and useable information
- Responds to rapid and short-fuse data requests, conducts analysis, and communicates findings
- Able to answer the question, “what is the data impact on Public Health?”
- Manage internal portfolios and provide data analytic support to team and clients.
- Understand and analyze the current state ad hoc reporting capabilities leveraged by business.
- Utilize experience in requirements definition to formulate the requirements.
- Consolidate ideas and feedback from multiple business stakeholders and serve as the single
- Authoritative source for data-related requirements to the design team.
- Understand expectations set with client and communicate strategically.
- Develop ad hoc reporting use cases and demonstrate them to customers and project teams.
- Facilitate business discussions and work with business/IT stakeholders to drive decisions.
- Data, system, and defect analysis experience
- Requirements planning/JAD session facilitation experience
- Able to lead others and have strong communications skills
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, International Studies, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a comparable field.
- 4+ years’ experience in supporting Public Health clients, preferably international Public Health.
- 4+ years’ experience analyzing Public Health data, preferably data related to international Public Health, including interpretation of results in order to make recommendations for program improvements.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Astute analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Public Health, response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and PEPFAR are highly recommended.
- Experience working as a contractor with the U.S. government is not required, but preferred.
