Data Analyst – Maine DHHS in Augusta, ME (Hybrid)
Summary:
The Commissioner’s Office within the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Data Analyst. The Data Analyst will report to the Director of Research and Policy Analysis and work closely with Department leadership to conduct and present quantitative analysis that serves to advance the health and well-being of Maine’s residents.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct Data Analysis: Analyze and manage data sets of varying size; assist in processing and cleaning data sets; synthesize findings from data analysis and present in tabular or visual form such as with Tableau or similar platform.
• Writing: Communicate findings in the form of technical reports, memos, journal articles, and presentations to DHHS leadership.
• Project Work: Coordinate with teams from across DHHS to collect, process, and synthesize data that helps to inform and guide sound policymaking.
• Mission: Advance the Department’s mission to harness data and analytic resources to improve the health and well-being of all Mainers and to identify and reduce disparities across the state.

Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, or a related field, with quantitative coursework.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in and/or an eagerness to learn data management and visualization tools.
• Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Time Management: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects at the same time.

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role.
