SRI's Federal Partnerships Team provides researchers with full-service Business Development support, including customer relationship management, market and competitor intel, qualified opportunities and capture support. We seek a uniquely experienced, motivated, resourceful, and collaborative professional to serve as a Business Development Executive, DARPA Programs, in our Arlington, VA office. This position reports to the Vice President of Federal Partnerships.
ResponsibilitiesThis position requires an individual with a talent for building and maintaining customer relationships, who thrives in advanced technical environments, and can broker and win new business within DARPA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build and maintain relationships and interactions with DARPA customers, partners, SRI researchers.
- Early identification of new programs and Program Managers; inform, connect, position Principal Investigators (PIs) and solutions pre-solicitation.
- Communicate market and competitor intelligence to position SRI and improve probability of winning new programs.
- Provide PIs BD support to position solutions, shape opportunities, develop external partnerships, develop storyboards, generate win themes, execute competitor analyses, and color team reviews.
- Collaborate internally to bring together teams and solutions that address customer requirements and to enable cross-market solution pitching.
- Develop and execute portfolio planning, strategy, and long-range planning to drive new business opportunities across all DARPA offices and build a strong pipeline of DARPA work.
- Participate as part of the Federal Partnership leadership team to improve our Business Development practice, develop strategies, address leadership requests, and address challenges and solutions.
You will work side-by-side in a "one SRI team" model, with our scientists, engineers, Business Development professionals and other business and administrative team members, to translate customer needs (current and anticipated) into discriminating technical and business solutions using SRI capabilities.
Qualifications- Must have current knowledge of and relationships in the DARPA market.
- Minimum of 10 years of related Business Development experience in federal markets.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant science or business field.
- U.S. citizen. Possesses a current Defense Department security clearance and active Top-Secret clearance or able to qualify for one.
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, GovWin, federal opportunity tools and databases, including MS Office.
- Proven success originating, developing, evaluating, capturing, submitting competitive research proposals in the federal research and development market, specifically at DARPA.
- Effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to partner with researchers to prepare and present compelling customer briefings, white papers, and other material.
- Experience analyzing and understanding market drivers, technologies, and customer's mission requirements for current and future DoD requirements.
- Experienced with standard business acquisition processes for bookings capture.
- Pro-active - possess the ability to get out in front of customer capability gaps and requirements.
- Ability to manage a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Team focused with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
The salary range is: $200,000-$240,000. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
