About the Position: As a Dam Equipment Mechanic you will perform a variety of duties to support the operation and maintenance of a fish trapping facility.Qualifications:Who May Apply: US Citizens
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a DAM EQUIPMENT MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform routine installation, maintenance or repair on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical equipment. Must have journeyman level experience in one or more of the following areas: Electrical, Carpentry, Machinist, Mechanic, Welder, or Engineering Equipment Operator. I work under normal supervision of a supervisor or work leader who reviews my work for completion. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- Physical Effort: Work requires considerable standing, stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, and maneuvering in cramped spaces. Regularly lifts 40 to 50 pounds. Hoists, lifts, hand trucks, and other workers are available to assist with heavier items. Works on ladders and scaffolds which requires overhead work or in stretched, cramped or awkward positions. Operation of equipment involves jarring, jolting, jerking, twisting, bouncing, vibration, and strenuous physical activity.
- Working Conditions: Work performed inside include areas that are noisy, dirty, cold, damp, drafty, and greasy. Outside work is in all kinds of weather, including rain, wind, snow, and flooding. The incumbent is subject to cuts, bruises, falls, scrapes, fumes, burns, abrasions, and danger to the fingers, hands, and other parts of the body from cutting tools, grinding wheels, rotating work pieces, and moving machine parts. Falling rocks and debris work exposes incumbent to accidents from being struck by debris falling into fast-running water. Employee is subject to the discomforts of wearing safety equipment such as gloves, hard-toed shoes, hard-hat, lifejacket, rain gear, etc., when required by the situation.
