Job Overview
Dick Bedlington Farms is looking to hire an experienced Farm Equipment Mechanic. During the farming season (apr-oct) the applicant will be responsible for servicing and reparing row crop tractors, tillage & cultivation implements and irrigation equipment. As well as assisting with moving oversize loads and setting up equipment for different tasks and performing preventative maintenance in the shop. During the shipping season (Nov-March) the applicant will be responsible for servicing & repairing conveyor lines indoors, maintaining light duty forklifts and performing preventative maintenance in the shop.
Responsibilities
-Supporting equipment managers and operators with their needs during working hours.
-Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and repair as necessary
-Communication with in town repair/service shops scheduling any needed repairs or warranty work.
-Safely operate/manage light service truck
-Keeping service/repair records in house
-Maintain a clean driving record to fulfill insurance requirements
-Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
-Recommended 3 yrs. experience/on job or schooling
-Must have valid driver’s license.
-Basic knowledge with gas torch and arc welder for in-field repairs
-Must be able to diagnose vehicle electrical issues
-Must be able to diagnose Hydraulic issues
-Experience repairing small gas engines
-Good communication skills
-Safely walk, reach, bend, climb, push, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the essential duties
-Tools are recommended but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
