The Cybersecurity Specialist is a new position with responsibility for the coordination and management of cybersecurity within a growing firm.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST

  • Safeguarding information assets
  • Protecting systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources
  • Implementing security improvements
  • Utilize the NIST framework to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from all malicious activities, including devices, networks, cloud, applications, data, and users
  • Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits and working with 3rd parties to conduct penetration tests and vulnerability scans 
  • Implement and maintain security controls
  • Identify and solve potential security problems 
  • Maintain quality service
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending symposia, and workshops and meeting with local experts
  • Work closely with internal IT membership to understand the security support needs 

Requirements

IM seeks candidates with 5+ years of IT infrastructure and Cybersecurity experience. Although no one person will meet all these criteria, the successful candidate will possess many of the following qualities and experiences:

  • Proven work experience as a Cybersecurity Specialist or similar role
  • Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data, and other attack artifacts
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions
  • Proficiency with various security software across all levels in the NIST framework
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Cybersecurity certifications a plus

As an employee-owned firm, IM offers competitive compensation and benefits, including a non-contributory health and dental offering and participation in a profit-sharing pension plan, and an employee stock ownership plan. The range for this position is $91,470--$114,330. Every hire for this position will join the firm at $91,470.
