- Collaborate in the preparation of Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and System Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) in alignment with the NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for systems. Contribute to the creation of application accreditation packages for designated systems and assist in maintaining authorization packages through the preparation of necessary documentation.
- Aid in the analysis, investigation, and validation of security system events. Ensure the implementation, operational functionality, management, and validation of security measures as stipulated in published security plans. Support tasks to guarantee ongoing system compliance with authorizations.
- Participate in continuous monitoring tasks and documentations for assigned systems to facilitate Authorizations to Operate (ATOs). Conduct security control assessments in accordance with the Continuous Monitoring NIST SP 800-53 V4 for sustained compliance across applications, infrastructure, and networks.
- Assist in gathering data for event analysis and triage, contributing to the preparation of incident reports.
- Contribute to configuration management tasks and ensure compliance with required mandatory certifications for privileged user assignments. Maintain DoD IA training and certification requirements per DoD 8570.1M.
- Support the development, documentation, and execution of user training plans.
- Proactively explore opportunities to enhance technology alignment with the organization's primary mission. Address queries, resolve issues, and communicate software and operational changes.
- Collaborate with lead and senior ISSOs to assess the impact of system and network changes.
- Perform administrative tasks for systems, including support for data backup, system security, and user account management. Monitor day-to-day activities on systems and document changes as necessary.
- Provide assistance in supporting servers, network, and desktop hardware, software, and applications.
- Aid in hardware and software rollouts to ensure optimal resource deployment. Assist with hands-on cable routing and hardware maintenance.
- Assist in gathering data related to software packages for assigned systems, contributing to the maintenance of software and hardware lists and documentation.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of servers, desktop systems, and current communications devices.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), Authorizations to Operate (ATO) processes, and certifications under RMF.
- Working knowledge of ICD 503, DoD 8570.1M, and RMF.
- Proficiency in current communications devices, protocols, and server/desktop technologies.
- Familiarity with auditing processes.
- Facilitation and change management skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse technical disciplines.
- Capability to perform technical surveys and resolve issues.
- Flexibility for non-standard work schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. DoD Security Clearance required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
- Specialized certification (MCSE, A+, CISCO, Security+) within 6 months.
- Familiarity with eMass (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service)
- Knowledge of Windows desktop products.
- Familiarity with networked printers and photocopiers.
