Job description

Position Summary: CF will plan, coordinate, schedule and communicate pre-inspection assignments to each of your assigned contractor teams. CF will also assess contractor performance against established criteria for safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement. CF will identify best practices and ensure they are implemented uniformly amongst your teams. Business conduct must occur in accordance with OMS Field Services policies and procedures and be aligned with the goals of OMS Field Services.

Essential Functions:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact between PG&E and your assigned vegetation management contractors (owner’s representative).
  • Mentoring, coaching, and training other vegetation management staff in identification and documentation procedures for dead, dying, and encroaching trees and vegetation.
  • Planning, coordinating, scheduling, and communicating pre-inspection assignments to contractors.
  • Facilitating your team’s customer interactions and intervening in difficult property owner discussions.
  • Conducting safety and quality assurance audits of your crews to ensure accuracy, completeness and conformance of records and documentation to utility guidelines and procedures.
  • Providing strong leadership to senior consulting utility foresters and project managers that report to you.
  • Ensuring production rates of your contractors and identifying corrective measures for deficiencies.
  • Documenting and reporting deficiencies and corrective measures to PG&E and your assigned contractors.
  • Directly interacting with OMS Field Services managers and client representatives, as necessary.
  • Compile and submit daily and weekly reports of planned production, production against plan and exception reporting. Document and report findings of field quality assurance audits.
  • Implementing safety programs and championing safety compliance inspections.
  • Attracting, mentoring, and retaining additional staff members to OMS Field Services.
  • Other duties as assigned by OMS Field Services or the client.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) years of job-related experience with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role, as a team leader or project leader.
  • Two (2) years of experience in emergency response and/or two (2) years of experience in hazard tree removal projects along utility rights of way.
  • Be familiar with PG&E’s vegetation management contractors’ work practices, proper arboricultural techniques and practices and other requirements related to line clearances and fire prevention.
  • Required to maintain a valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Conduct a background check, drug screening, and health exam.
  • Approval by PG&E Representative.

Working Conditions:

Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor conditions; exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on/walk on slippery or uneven and potentially mountainous terrain. Noise level is usually moderate.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to perform tasks during a typical 8 to 10+ hour workday.
