The Customs/Logistics Sr Analyst will provide tactical support in the oversight of TBC Corp.'s Customs Compliance program, including the support of Free Trade Zone (FTZ) program. This role will also support the oversight of TBC's global forwarder and assist in origin management flow of merchandise. The Sr Analyst will facilitate and ensure compliant, reliable, efficient & expedient cross-border movement of goods, while becoming a subject matter expert, leveraging innovation and best practices to provide value to the team. In addition, the role will also ensure processes to maintain flow of goods to TBC Distribution Centers and Customers through the oversight of TBC's global forwarder and carriers.
- This position provides analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the company's overall trade management program
- Communicate and stay updated on all US regulatory laws and regulations affecting the tire industry
- Work closely with TBC's Customs Broker and FTZ Administrator to ensure the reduction of risk, challenges or opportunities that may arise
- Familiarize and understand the tire industry and supply chain networks, including distribution center operations
- This candidate would have the potential to grow into future advancement positions within TBC
- Oversee the daily processes from our Customs Broker and FTZ Administrator to ensure timely filing and flow of goods
- Primary point of contact for all inbound receipts from carriers and for scheduling, shipping and receiving appointments
- Compile LSP performance reporting and coordinate corrective actions with reporting
- Respond timely to email enquiries regarding international logistics
- Prepare and report out of key performance indicators (KPI)
- Audit Entry/Entry Summary FTZ data with customs broker for forwarding to CBP
- Correspond with foreign vendors and purchasing dept. to obtain documents and information necessary for Customs clearance
- Consult directly with carriers to troubleshoot problems and coordinate action items for improvement
- Regularly consult with suppliers, carriers and/or DC field support personnel to build and maintain optimal process flow
- File quarterly HMF reports with US Customs
- Audit import & export files for recordkeeping compliance
- Audit entry summaries from Customs Brokers for accuracy and compliance
- Resolve errors found on entry summaries with brokers
- Knowledge of Free Trade Zones and related operational activities
- Maintain written operating procedures for internal compliance programs and nominated U.S. Customs brokers
- Support activities/initiatives that align with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program
- Minimum 1-2 years import logistics and/or Customs Brokerage experience, including related industries
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field
- Knowledge and passion for learning regulatory and Customs and Border Protection processes
- Knowledge of Harmonize Tariff Schedule of the US (HTSUS) & Customs Regulations (CFR Title 19)
- Highly Computer - PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Freight Forwarders systems, and FTZ Applications
- Strict attention to detail and meeting deadlines
