Customer Support Specialist I - The Toro Company

Major Function? 

The Customer Service Representative serves customers by being their point of contact.  Manage customer information and accounts.  Configures, tests, troubleshoots, maintains, and understands mechanical systems, peripherals, and proprietary software.

Work Location:

This opportunity is based out of Abilene, Texas.Candidates should prepare for 5-days on site.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: 

  • Receives and responds to inquiries regarding troubleshooting mechanical and software issues. Works remotely to diagnose issues and explain proper operational procedures. 

  • Assist Customers in workflow management and quality assurance which may include the following: inspection of completed orders and technical support resolution with phone support leads.

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of customer service materials, tools, and channels of communication. Including the review of all support-related processes and documentation for continuous improvement.

  • Be the point of contact for technical and service escalations.

  • Attains Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge level in assigned areas.

  • Participates in ongoing training.

  • Learns software and mechanical systems supported by self-study, attendance of classes or courses, or through in-house training. Maintains a high level of competency in supported TORO proprietary software and mechanics. Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated leadership, and oral and written communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of support policies and procedures, a solid understanding of general business management are highly desired. Demonstrated ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

  • Experience:At least one (1) to three (3) years in a phone/headset, Customer Support environment.

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree preferred in a technical discipline, or equivalent 1-3 years of experience in related industry.

  • Language Skills: Fluent English and Spanish preferred.

  • Skills: Strong technical and mechanical skills;Extensive technical or mechanical support experience required with proven hardware technical planning and development.Researches, designs and develops solutions to highly complex technical or mechanical issues.Strong communication, both written and verbal;Great active listening skills; Exceptional interpersonal and rapport-building skills;Patient and empathetic attitude;Strong time management and organizational skills;Adaptability and flexibility;Comfortable working in fast-paced environments;Basic troubleshooting skills; Computer literacy;Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems; and Expertise in Customer Support.
