Customer Service Representative – Operations


Grade:                      Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Location:                 Elkton, SD

Supervisor:             Kristie Thompson

Workdays/Hrs:     Monday – Friday (8am-5pm)

Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead Customer Service Representative – Deposit Accounts

  • Always project a friendly and favorable bank image to customers while enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Greet and assist new and existing customers as they enter the bank, answer inquiries, and direct customers to the appropriate individual or department as needed.
  • Identify, establish, and develop relationships with customers.
  • Work to understand customer needs by offering solutions, products and services.
  • Uphold and maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Performs lead CSR daily tasks which include processing daily transactions for customers which may include, but are not limited to, depositing, or withdrawing funds, receiving, and processing loan payments, cash advances, ordering checks, vault and cash management, reconciling cash drawer, and other duties as assigned. Provide customer support in the areas of online banking and mobile banking and debit card maintenance.
  • Balance and reconcile vault and CSR cash totals for all branches, manage currency requests for other BankStar locations, and other various duties as needed.
  • Perform deposit functions which include opening and updating deposit accounts, opening IRA/HSA accounts and provide support for IRA distributions, HSA transactions, sales, and reporting.

 

Operations & Additional Duties

  • Responsible for the support of wire transfers, including originating, verifying, and processing domestic and international wires.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day management of Accounts Payable bank wide.
  • Manage garnishments and levies.
  • Backup duties include administration of Fed funds, IntraFi Accounts, Precision processing, internet banking, proof operations, posting and balancing bank investment accounts, internet mail, online bill pay, notice printing, submitting returned items to UBB and the Fed.
  • Assist with credit card duties including ordering and closing credit cards, credit limits and other daily transactions.

  • Managing Change:Incorporate new ideas, processes, and procedures into the bank and radiate positivity.
  • Responsibility:Willingness to assume responsibility, be accountable, and make independent decisions.
  • Problem Solving/Critical Thinking:Identify problems and determine accuracy and relevance of information. Use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, providing recommendations.
  • Technology:Attend training to ensure competent use of IT resources.  Comply with appropriate bank Policies, IT Policies and Procedures, and Information Security Program. 
  • Compliance: Ability to learn, follow and stay informed about relevant bank policies, procedures and protocol.
  • Physical Demands:Intermittently remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, and occasionally move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Equipment:Working knowledge of standard office equipment.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate in business or equivalent in banking experience strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
