Customer Service Representative

Van Gundy Insurance is looking for an energetic, motivated, and organized individual to work as a Customer Service Representative in the Commercial Lines Department of our fast-paced and growing office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process applications for new business, assisting in the retention of renewal business, and handling policy changes for clients.
• Prepare proposals for new and current customers in accordance with our agency standards, while collaborating productively with the agent.
• Create comparisons, schedule lists, and other coverage breakdown documents for renewal business.
• Respond to underwriters, company personnel, or clients’ questions in a timely and professional manner via phone call and/or email.
• Maintain a high degree of documentation accuracy in our agency management system.
• Manage the agents’ book of business through excellent Customer Service.

• Cultivate a cordial and professional relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and multi-task but can accept constructive criticism when necessary.
• Handle the workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
• Must be comfortable with internet-based programs and portals.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite products, particularly Outlook and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Customer service and/or receptionist experience
• Experience with insurance.
• Knowledge of AMS360
• State of Illinois Property & Casualty Insurance license

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
