Position Overview: The Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting customer with order entry and invoicing, product knowledge questions and concerns via customer contact through phone calls, e-mails, faxes and letters.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs data entry and invoicing of orders received from our customers by phone, e-mail, mail or fax.
- Responds to product knowledge questions, and customer complaints and concerns.
- Facilitates the shipping and tracking of customer orders.
- May perform the duties of receptionist in his/her absence.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Has a strong working knowledge of utilizing the internet for information access.
- Extensive Customer Service experience in retail sales and services.
- Possesses a patient and calm demeanor.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills via phone, email and in person.
- Ability to type and write concisely with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Ability to multi task in a busy office.
- Experienced in the use of common office equipment, fax, copy and postal machines.
- Ability to work well individually and as a member of a team.
- Understands basic computer functions and is skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Must be able to focus on the task at hand, sometimes within a noisy office work area.
- Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination.
- Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Customer Service Representative and/or sales role with the general public required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Position requires the ability to sit for up to 2 hours at a time.
Work Environment:
- The primary work environment for this position is within the office setting. There are no adverse conditions associated with this position.
