Customer Service At B J's Bait & Tackle Shop

BJ's Bait & Tackle in South Haven, MN is looking for one Customer Service representative to join our team. We are located on 13155 Bayview Road. We specialize in having a bait and tackle store that offers additional conveniences such as snacks, lottery, off sale beer, THC/CBD, boat rentals, seasonal and short term marina slips, gas on shore, propane, and more. Our ideal candidate is reliable, self-driven, hard-working, and can create a delightful positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and create a memorable experience for them.
• Be a resource to customers not from the area by finding out what we can do to help them with whatever they may need.
• Provide over the top cleanliness with boats, docks, inside and outside the store, including the bathroom.
• Verify age via ID check for anyone purchasing tobacco, beer, THC/CBD, or lottery.
• Stock inventory properly with newest inventory in back.
• Walk, or stand, outside in the elements, in extreme weather hot, cold, raining, snow storm.
• Walk to and from the shoreline and the store.
• Empty trash receptacles daily and clean them out as needed.
• Touch and sort worms, leeches, fish, minnows, and dispose of as needed.
• Answer the phone professionally and return voicemails within a timely manner.
• Try to upsell the customer on what we have, do not encourage them to go to another store.
• Handle cash transactions, count the till each opening and closing, ensure no variances of money or lottery.
• Dock and undock boats, fill up with gas.
• Scare away pigeons and clean up pigeon feces.
• Go over rental instructions with customers to ensure proper operation and safety procedures.
• Handle customer complaints in a friendly and professional manner.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• General knowledge of fishing is helpful.
• Preferred candidate, will have social media, or news paper, advertising experience with proper grammar in such postings.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds.
• Ability to be outside in the elements of weather and can walk through uneven terrain while carrying items.
• Ability to lift and fill, or exchange, propane tanks up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Friendly attitude even when dealing with disgruntled customers.
• Responsible and proven ability to maintain scheduling commitments.
• Ability to problem solve quickly concerns customers may have.
• Good communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $14.00/hour.
