The Customer Service Associateis a vital member of our team responsible for providing exceptional external communication with buyers and sellers. This role involves bidder education, efficient collection and processing of payments, and seamless internal communication. The ideal candidate will be skilled in prioritizing daily workloads, maintaining composure in various situations, displaying a professional demeanor, adapting to change, solving problems, working independently, and paying meticulous attention to detail. Above all, the Customer Service Associate must effectively convey our company's values during all customer interactions, address any concerns or complaints, and collaborate with customers to find appropriate solutions to resolve issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with buyers and sellers, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Educate bidders on auction processes, guidelines, and answer inquiries related to our products and services.
  • Handle payment collection and processing promptly and accurately, ensuring a seamless transaction experience.
  • Facilitate internal communication between different departments, ensuring smooth coordination and information flow.
  • Prioritize daily workload to meet deadlines and provide timely and satisfactory responses to customer inquiries.
  • Maintain a professional and composed demeanor, even in challenging situations, to deliver exceptional Customer Service.
  • Adapt to changes in processes and procedures, showcasing flexibility and willingness to embrace new practices.
  • Proactively solve problems and address customer concerns or complaints to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and foster positive relationships.
  • Work independently, showing initiative and self-motivation, while effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Utilize software and computer skills efficiently to perform tasks and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications:
  • High School Degree or GED, with some college education preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a professional office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Efficient data entry and computer skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating effective time management and task prioritization.
  • Bilingual candidates who can speak, write and understand Spanish are encouraged to apply.

  • Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Requires the ability to satisfactorily complete a background check
Working Settings:
  • Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime.
  • Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, overtime may be required to achieve due dates. Overtime is compensated in accordance with US Department of Labor requirements.
  • Based in the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Compensation:
  • Hourly rate varies based on experience and qualifications, but typically ranges from $16.50 per hour to $17.50 per hour and is paid bi-weekly.
  • Monthly Bonus Program - determined by the Company’s monthly revenue result and are paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula. (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200)
  • Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment
  • 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment
  • Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment
  • Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year
