Customer Care Representative (Hybrid Remote Position)

NorthWood Distributing is an online retailer that sells top-quality supplies for making candles, soap, bath bombs, and crafts. As our business grows, we are seeking a friendly and professional Customer Care Specialist to join our team.

You will be responsible for answering customer questions about order status, product details, order issues, and other similar topics. Part of your job will involve using Shopify to check order details and make appropriate changes/updates to orders based on customer needs. You will need to be able to analyze customer needs and recommend a solution as well as upsell customers when appropriate.

Training will be provided on our policies and products. We are looking for someone who can confidently handle Customer Care independently, while also knowing when to escalate customer issues.

About Our Hybrid Work Environment

Although this position can mostly be done remotely, we are looking for someone who can occasionally work on-site. You must be able to commute to our location in Belle Plaine, MN when necessary. On site work will be required for training so you can learn about our products and better assist customers. Once initial training is complete, we expect on site work to be about 1 day per month.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a professional business setting.

• Experience with Shopify.

• Ability to commute occasionally to Belle Plaine, MN.

• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency with computers.

• Willingness and ability to become an expert on our products.

• Access to a home computer as well as a fast and secure internet connection and phone line.

• Quiet and semi-private place to work.

•High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of candle making, soapmaking, and other similar crafts.

• Familiarity with the Groove customer service platform.

• Experience with social media (Primarily Facebook & Instagram).

• Familiarity with Google services (Drive, Reviews, Workspace, Gmail, etc.)

Schedule & Hours:

This is a part-time position and we are currently able to offer 15-20 hours. The hours for this position are flexible and you can set your own schedule as long as customer messages are answered in a timely manner. At a minimum, all customer messages must be addressed within one business day.
