Custodian/Janitor

General Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, performs the necessary tasks to maintain the cleanliness of the overall facility and production areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and seals floors, following the Production Housekeeping Duties schedule.
• Immediately cleans up any spills that may occur.  Operates the floor scrubbing and buffing machines
• Cleans work tables, benches, cabinets, railings, and partitions as directed. 
• Wipes down all doors.
• Dusts vents, door frames and overhead pipes.
• Launders floor and dust mops.
• Uses cleaners and chemicals in a controlled manner.
• Stocks with supplies: Rubber gloves, hairnets and beard covers.
• Documents cleaning on appropriate logs
• Empties wastebaskets and transports bins of refuse to the designated disposal area.
• Maintains production supply area organized and stocked.
• Maintains cleaning supplies inventory and informs supervisor of inventory levels.
• Recycles cardboard using the baler.
• Assists with loading and unloading truck with incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments.
• Attends and participates in all mandatory training sessions.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education: High School or equivalent preferred. Some level of experience in maintenance and Janitorial required. Basic skills necessary in order to use cleaning equipment. Proficient in English.

Qualifications Must be able to work quickly, thoroughly and independently. Must know and understand the proper use of chemicals and cleaning materials. Possess extreme attention to detail regarding the cleanliness and safety inside the facility. Displays and promotes a positive and cheerful attitude towards all members and staff. Adheres to all safety rules.

Physical Demands:  Exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  Required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Ability to stand and remain on your feet for a full shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
