Job Summary:
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for training, overseeing and assisting with the cleanliness and sanitation of NPI properties, as well as training, supervising and directing staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support and adhere to the NPI Code of Ethics, work rules, policies, plans and procedures to promote a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors and employees of New Paths.
- Ensure custodial services meet the needs of NPI: quality meets established guidelines through inspection and giving instruction to staff for improvement.
- Schedule work activities of staff supervised; may be required to adjust workloads to accommodate staffing levels, changing priorities and special projects.
- Train staff in proper procedures in all areas: cleaning, equipment, tools, machines and materials use such as cleaning compounds, solvents and chemicals.
- Ensure that all supplies and equipment are available for staff to perform duties.
- Ensure that all supplies and equipment are maintained and stored in a secure area.
- Participate in the interviewing process for new staff.
- Review and evaluate performance of staff, trainees and volunteers. Will provide corrective action as necessary.
- Approve staff timecards and time off requests.
- Conduct regular inspections of NPI properties and keep supervisor apprised of condition of buildings, concerns identified, repairs needed.
- Will perform custodial work daily as needed to support the department.
- Provide custodial services under emergency conditions as needed.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years’ experience in custodial services.
- Two years’ experience supervising in a custodial environment; four years preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, climb, stairs, ladders, bending and reaching as necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Full range of physical motion, in order to operate manual and powered equipment.
- Will work both indoors and outdoors in any weather.
