What you'll be doing: Responsible for providing career technical training instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential functions:
- Serve as the lead instructor for the office assistant career technical training (CTT) program.
- Provide assistance to the CTT manager to ensure the required delivery of services are provided.
- Provide assistance in the projection, recordkeeping of student progress, credentialing and course completion.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes to achieve center goals. Maintain copy center and front office mockup assignments and activities.
- Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
- Participate in the selection of, develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
- In coordination with work-based learning (WBL) staff; develop work based training sites on center, in the community and at home-based sites; monitor and document student progress at work based training sites monthly.
- Participate in activities associated with the intellectual and social development of students.
- Control use of equipment and supplies; make minor repairs; recommend purchases.
- Administer and correct tests; maintain Training Achievement Records (TARs) and attendance reports.
Qualifications: Valid, active, and in good standing California RN or LVN license required. Minimum 2 years nursing experience (RN or LVN), one (1) year as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care hospice care or other long-term care setting. In addition, must have one of the following completion of a course in teaching adults; or completion of a course approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) or by an accredited educational institution; or BRN continuing education course certificate used to meet this requirement must comply with the requirements found in 16 CCR, 1450 et seq. Must be able to be approved by the California's Dept. of Public Health as a Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) instructor.
