This role is eligible for a $5,000 bonus as well as up to $5,000 for relocation expenses!
New-to-Mastery Teachers can expect a starting annual salary of between $55,000-$101,500 based on years’ experience and level of education.
Position Summary:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Essential Job Functions:
- Develop rigorous and appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned to the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s CTE Program of Study Task List, the NOCTI and PA learning standards
- Lead engaging instruction for students aligned with career-connected learning best practices
- Maintain consistent classroom routines and procedures while also supporting individualized student learning
- Prepare students to successfully pass certification exams for industry-recognized credentials to support workforce readiness, including First Aid/CPR and/or certified nursing assistant (CNA) credentials
- Leads hands-on learning opportunities in the Health Technology suite and in the field to provide students with practice opportunities and feedback on real-life skills they will need for success in health care careers
- Work closely with school leaders to analyze student growth & progress and use data to inform instruction
- Support student preparedness for their chosen post-secondary pathway aligned with this CTE program, including two-year college, four-year college and/or workforce
- Engage families in their children’s education by building relationships and maintaining regular communication
- Manage and support Health Technology program compliance with all PDE CTE requirements
- Other Job Functions:
- Collaborate with other CTE teachers to discuss student work, share best practices, plan events, and ensure student mastery of standards
- Coordinate partnerships with external organizations to provide Health Technology career exposure opportunities for students including job shadowing, guest speakers, field trips, community service, internships and/or paid jobs in collaboration with the Assistant Principal of Post-Secondary and school-based post-secondary team
- Commit to ongoing professional development to learn CTE educator best practices in the spirit of continuous improvement
- Lead engagement and feedback gathering from Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) members to ensure that Health Technology programming, facilities, equipment and curriculum is aligned with labor and workforce industry needs
Qualifications:
- Deep content knowledge and practical skills related to health care careers
- Commitment to and experience working with underserved communities

- Outstanding instructional skills driven by data and delivered through rigorous and engaging strategies
Education and Experience:
- One of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Nursing with a certification as an RN,
- Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or a related field, and currently certified as a chiropractor, occupational therapist, optometrist, pharmacist, physical therapist, podiatrist, or psychologist
- Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse and have passed the Health Assisting Occupational Competency Assessment
- At least four years of full-time wage-earning work experience as a health professions practitioner
- CTE Health Related Technology CTE Teacher certification- must provide proof of completion of occupational competency assessment and enrollment in university program prior to start date
Physical/Environmental:
- Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as required, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as: traveling to network campuses; maneuvering in office spaces (including standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away); stooping, kneeling, reaching file cabinets/shelves; fine finger and hand manipulation in use of computer, chalkboard, dry erase, &/or projectors; filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; sitting for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse, and typing.
Other Requirements:
- Position requires local &/or regional travel to Mastery and other sites. Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle, or access to reliable transportation.
