ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Quality Assurance Technician’s primary responsibilities are performing incoming quality inspection, in-process quality inspection, and shipping/final quality inspection. The Quality Technician is expected to ensure shipments are sent in accordance with assigned requirements for Government, Military, and commercial contracts. The Quality Technician is responsible for managing the workflow within each workstation as well as managing and maintaining record and documentation artifacts within the Comtech AS9100 Quality Management System. The Quality Technician is expected to ensure that the quality requirements of manufactured products are met and that non-conformances are managed in accordance with the AS9100 QMS policies and procedures. The Quality Technician is a member of the Quality Assurance Team responsible for ensuring all manufactured and shipped products meet corporate and contractual requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Follow-up on materials being rejected for discrepancies from supplier or vendor, customer returns RMA’s
- Problem-solving – QA Technicians' primary responsibility is to look for ways to improve the Quality of materials being used for profitability and efficiency.
- AS9100 / ISO 9001 - Working knowledge is required to understand the company’s structure to uphold certification.
- Audit technical quality testing on product prior to shipment to verify proper function as per predetermined standards.
- Understand and comply with Comtech AS9100 QMS Policies and Procedures and Quality Record requirements.
- Manage quality records, reports, non-conformances, and test results
- Continually seek out and identify improvement opportunities independently
- Effectively interface with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, and Supply Chain while performing Quality Assurance tasks
- Gather, complete, and properly store information and document artifacts required while performing Quality Assurance tasks, including but not limited to serial numbers, test results, sign-off reviews, images, etc.
- Perform Quality Assurance tasks and inspections as required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Being detail-oriented and having a strong attention to detail is necessary for tests and inspections conducted by the technician.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with diverse audiences both internally and externally and to foster strong teamwork.
- Highly Functional User in Microsoft Office 365 Suite – OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel
- Work well independently or as a member of a team environment
- Prefer experience with equipment related to satellite, baseband and wireless communications capabilities for encrypted voice and data transfer.
- Prefer previous experience with quality management systems within an Aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with Department of Defense contracts preferred but not required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- ASQ Certification in manufacturing
- 6 years’ experience in a Quality technical manufacturing field.
- ASQ Certification in manufacturing preferred
- Experience working in AS/ISO certified Department of Defense manufacturing facilities
- Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 50 Lbs. on a regular basis.
- US Citizen.
