Cross-Functional Sap Accounting Lead

The Cross-Functional SAP Accounting Lead independently leads aspects and preparation of the financial statements of BMW Group subsidiaries (e.g.,BMW Holdings, Shared Services, US Technology, Joint Ventures), are prepared in accordance with the applicable reporting principles (IFRS and BMW AG policies and procedures) and provide stakeholders with a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position, profit of the company and manage the Intercompany, Accounts Receivable and Cost of Retail (CoR)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional teams (incl. C4-US-F-, FF-AM-US, PZ-AM-US, etc.) and provides strategic guidance on financial transactions and accounting processes while liaising with the Central and External SAP Rollout Team

• Independently manage complex processes and systems to support the Accounting Operations (F-40) and
  Financial Analysis and Accounting Services (F-41) teams with completing financial reporting deadlines in cost of retail, inventory, warranty, intercompany, accounts receivable, and other ad hoc requirements

• Prepare and monitor the financial statements of BMW of North America to ensure they are in compliance with BMW Group Accounting Guidelines and IFRS

• Serve as a subject matter expert with the ability to understand both SAP and accounting related business issues that arise in the accounting focus area

• Lead collaboration with the GFBB project teams in several subprojects to determine and in the SAP S4/HANA environment with best practice examples from the US entities. Strong involvement in this project in the early phase (design & implementation) as well as in future

• Lead and support external resources/partners through all phases of project development

• Fully own the documentation of processes and knowledge gathering to facilitate requests and needs
  stemming from senior management initiatives

• Create comprehensive documentation of existing process

• Develop technical pages on eGAAP (i.e. Internal Wiki)

• Utilize your expert understanding of accounting systems/process (mainly: all SAP platforms) to assist management with creating process documentation of existing systems and acts as the primary contact for new projects
  Independently drive the documentation of the Fit-Gap analyst and monitor current infrastructure to ensure
  proper functionality

• Ensure that financial reporting activities are processed in most effective and efficient way utilizing IFT and JRP

• Verify that internal accounting controls related to accounting processes are in place and effective

• Independently conduct technical accounting research and guidance as it pertains to current and upcoming IFRS topics and eGAAP

• Support Managers and Team Leads in accomplishing objectives assigned to the Accounting Department Advocate for accounting group's needs to PMO and IT department

• Assist the annual audit and mid-year and interim review of the financial statements and footnotes by our
  Independent Certified Public Accounting Firm

• Take initiative to regularly lead ad hoc tasks and projects as part of team and BMW Group

• Train/support employees on system process innovations

The pay range for this role is: $119,560-$140,659.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
